The Community and You
Throughout history, communities have long prospered for centuries. They serve as a keen purpose in our lives, especially for high school students transitioning to college. First of all, a community is a group of individuals of any size whom share common interests and values. Its sole purpose is to help the commuters who are going through the same process achieve a similar objective. Most importantly, I believe that in order for a community to prosper and flourish properly, the commuting members should take the initiative of giving back to their community.
In a society where most public schools do not properly prepare their students for college, it is important for one to join a community that will help smooth the transition from high school to college with ease. By creating opportunities one should not take for granted. A community will consist of students whom share similar or different majors. This will help create better study groups, more diverse ideas, which may one decide on their true major. The most beautiful thing I find most fascinating about a community is becoming a family with one’s community.
As an important member of the new bridge community, It is my responsibility to dedicating my time commuting to the program. It is important for me to know the history of the program in order to truly appreciate it. Knowing the communities history will serve me well in to help the next generation pass it down to future ones. In addition my responsibilities to the Bridge Community are quiet simple; I am to participate in EOP events, follow the rules of the community, be a responsible student, and help keep the program alive.
Communities come and go, despite of this, it’s the ones that make the biggest of impact on people’s lives that stay the longest. I believe this program will continue to strive for I am completely grateful and honored to be in a community that will help me accomplish my dreams and aspirations, but most importantly it will also help me give back to my community when I have done so… In addition it will also help me say by to my Mom.
